Alaskan Cruise

Cruises are the perfect vacation for seniors to indulge in, for they offer endless activities, pre-arranged for you that you can pick and choose as you please! Everything is planned for you, from the meals to the stops along the way to where you will be sleeping every night. Arguably the best part about cruises for seniors is that they are incredibly accommodating for those with varying levels of mobility. Alaska is the perfect destination to cruise to, as it’s not too far away, a place many have never been and offers gorgeous views you can get without having to leave the ship deck! The highlight of many Alaskan cruises is seeing the magnificent glaciers, specifically Glacier Bay National Park. Glacier Bay offers serene views of tidewater glaciers and incredible wildlife you can see from the ship such as bears, mountain goats, and bald eagles!

Sedona, AZ

Arizona is an ideal, and very popular state for seniors to both travel and begin retirement in! Offering sunshine year round, immaculate national parks, wildlife, and big cities full of food and fun that will be sure to appeal to anyone’s interests. A gem of Arizona, located roughly two hours north of Phoenix and another two from the Grand Canyon, Sedona offers incredible hiking, jeep tours, shopping, and art galleries. Sedona is surrounded by Red Rock State Park, consisting of beautiful red rock formations and lush forest. If hiking is not up your alley, there are Jeep tours that will take you on off-road adventures through these stunning canyons. Another excellent option for senior travelers that Sedona offers are hot air balloon rides that will give you a bird’s eye view of these beautiful red rocks. If you're looking for a relaxing day, visit one of Sedona’s luxury day spas or resorts! Whatever you choose to indulge in, Sedona is sure to offer a spectacular time.

Hawaii

If anywhere screams a relaxing vacation spot for seniors to kick back and take in the gorgeous views, it’s Hawaii! Whether you want to explore all the island has to offer or lounge on the beach, Hawaii provides services that can cater to any of your needs. You can explore the underwater sea life that Hawaii offers, including sea turtles, sharks, dolphins, and tropical fish by going on a submarine ride. Hawaii is also home to Haleakala, the world’s largest dormant volcano which you can visit via a helicopter tour that will also take you over waterfalls, through the jungle, and over the beautiful beaches. For those that like to keep their feet on the ground, you can learn all about the culture of the islands by attending a luau show featuring dancing and twirling torches. Of course, you cannot forget about the beaches in Hawaii, where you can find a variety of colored sand throughout the islands, including white, black, and even green beaches! However you choose to spend your day, Hawaii is an island full of breathtaking views and immaculate culture, guaranteed to satisfy any senior looking for an enchanting getaway!

New York City

New York City, the city that never sleeps and the most populated city in the United States is somewhere everyone has to visit at least once in their lifetime! Full of history, the city has so many sights to see regardless of your interests! Pick and choose from the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Empire State Building, Times Square, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, see a show on Broadway, or enjoy the shopping and food from all around the world. What’s great about this city being so large is they have many options to explore the city without having to walk! You can see the city by taking a hop-on-hop-off tour bus, take a ferry ride to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, or even fly over the city via helicopter. New York truly has it all and isn't a city you want to miss.

Europe

For those looking to travel a bit further, Europe is an incredible destination that is extremely accommodating for seniors! Of the many incredible countries in Europe to choose from it would make things easier to visit ones where English is commonly spoken, such as Ireland, the United Kingdom, Malta, or Sweden. Without worrying about a language barrier, vacationers will feel comfortable and less worrisome. In big cities like London and Dublin, there are plenty of tour services that can also take off the stress of planning, and will guarantee you don’t miss any must-see sights. If the cruising idea appealed to you, there are European river cruises that can offer a relaxing way to see a wide range of destinations. Europe is a perfect senior friendly place to visit, with vast history and views everywhere you turn.
